A Creative Spirit that Connects the Dots
A Creative Spirit that Connects the Dots
Welcome to my world, a place where uniqueness is not just embraced but celebrated as the cornerstone of innovation and connection. As you embark on this digital journey with me, let me share a glimpse into the life that has shaped my vision, passion and how creativity has been a fire in my belly over the course of my career.
Embracing the Uncommon Path
My story is one of contrasts and unexpected twists. I am a testament to different is an asset - challenging for sure but an asset nonetheless. As a black albino, whose journey defies conventional norms. My skin may not mirror my heritage, but my spirit is deeply rooted in the rich tapestry of my ancestry. This unique blend of identity has been a guiding force in my life, teaching me to see the world through a lens of diversity and inclusiveness.
Despite the challenges of low vision, with clarity less than 20/100 without my specialized glasses or bioptic lens, I have honed my ability to perceive the world in ways that go beyond the visual. My journey to independence was marked by a late achievement of getting my driver’s license at 23, a milestone that coincided with a snow-blanketed day in Connecticut, turning an empty DMV into an unexpected opportunity.
Raised in a modest environment by a single mother, my upbringing was rich in love and resilience. She instilled in me the values of hard work and determination, qualities that have fueled my journey from adversity to accomplishment.
A Tapestry of Experience and Innovation
My professional path is as varied as my personal life. At Southern New England Telephone, I dared to dream big, aspiring for a White House Fellowship. Though underestimated by some, my determination led me to the regional finals, only to be hindered by my lack of an advanced degree. This setback was merely a catalyst for further growth, propelling me to pursue an Executive MBA at the University of New Haven.
My entrepreneurial spirit came to life with the co-founding of StatChek, Inc., where we were at the forefront of what would later evolve into the EVV (electronic visit verification) industry. This venture was not just a business endeavor but a journey of innovation and foresight.
The true essence of my approach lies in how I engage with the world. When I meet someone, their story becomes a puzzle that my mind eagerly works to solve. I am constantly strategizing, connecting dots between their aspirations and potential pathways to success. This innate ability is a gift that I cannot switch off – a cerebral symphony of ideas and strategies, akin to the intricate connections depicted in the opening credits of the TV show "The Good Doctor."
As you navigate through this website, I invite you to join me in this journey of collaboration, inspiration and creativity. Let's connect, share our stories, and support each other in tangible ways. If you see the potential for us to join forces and bring transformative ideas to life, I encourage you to reach out. Together, let's turn aspirations into reality.
